As we step into the final quarter of the year, it’s time to reflect on an exciting and fast-paced Q3 packed with innovation, collaboration, and a strong sense of community. In this edition of our Digital Insights Newsletter, we’re diving deep into the trends shaping the future of technology, exploring what’s next on the digital horizon and how these developments are influencing businesses and customers alike.
One of the standout highlights of the quarter has been our new partnership with Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones MBE as we spent time with her at the Ascot Races, discussing business ventures in wellness. We’re incredibly proud to be teaming up with Jade, whose passion, discipline, and drive align perfectly with our own values. Together, we’re working to inspire others, push boundaries, and embrace opportunities with her new business, JJ Double Gold, co-founded with our CEO, Richard Groves. The website is underway, but for now, you can follow more on Instagram. Q3 also saw us out in the road literally, as we laced up their trainers and hit the pavement at the Tonbridge Half Marathon. We’re proud to report strong finishes, high spirits, and a great sense of camaraderie throughout. As always, the question now is: what’s the next challenge?
In Q3 2025, telecom operators are increasingly prioritising artificial intelligence (AI) not just to reduce costs but to generate new revenue streams, with implementation moving beyond pilot phases into business strategies. In other network news, the merger of VodafoneThree (combining Vodafone UK and Three UK) marks a major reshaping of the UK mobile market, and the new entity has pledged to invest around £11 billion over the next decade into 5G and network infrastructure. Over the next few years, however, the merger is expected to bring noticeable improvements in mobile coverage, data speeds, and network reliability, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas. VodafoneThree has promised that its 5G network will eventually reach more than 99 percent of the UK population, offering faster, more stable connections and supporting new digital services, which is welcomed news for customers. The company has said its long-term goal is to deliver a six-fold increase in average data speeds by 2034, with significant benefits expected to start appearing from 2026 onwards.
In other news, we are continuing the conversation with customers on older landline services, ADSL or legacy copper-based broadband. Like all good things, these older technologies are coming to an end. By 2027, this analogue system will be switched off, making way for more advanced digital solutions. The Openreach-operated copper network (which supports ADSL, FTTC and traditional landlines using the Public Switched Telephone Network or PSTN) is being withdrawn, with the end-point currently scheduled for January 2027.
It’s important for businesses to consider the alternatives that can meet your organisation communication needs. VoIP is one of the most popular alternatives to the PSTN. It works by converting voice signals into digital data and transmitting them over the internet. Implementing a new digital telephony solution can seem daunting, but with the right approach it can be a smooth and rewarding process. Our digital team are here to help you every step of the way.
