Large-scale rural events have a unique energy that is hard to replicate in traditional venues. They bring together communities, brands and enthusiasts in open, scenic environments where experiences feel more immersive and memorable. But behind the excitement of any successful outdoor event lies one essential foundation; reliable connectivity.

Challenge the Road Super Car event
Active Digital is proud to be the official connectivity partner for the CTR Supercar Event 2026, working alongside Challenge The Road (CTR) to ensure exhibitors, organisers and guests remain connected throughout the day. Challenge The Road has built a strong digital presence through its YouTube and Instagram channels, showcasing supercar content and storytelling to a global audience. The supercar event represents a natural extension of that ecosystem, bringing the online community into a live environment where cars and connection come together in real time.
This year’s event takes place at the iconic Penshurst Place on 4th to 5th July 2026. Penshurst Place is one of the most historically significant and visually striking estates in the UK. Located in the Kent countryside, the estate has stood since the 14th century and is widely regarded as one of the finest surviving examples of a medieval fortified manor house in England. At the heart of the estate is the impressive Baron’s Hall, completed in 1341, featuring a soaring 60-foot chestnut-beamed ceiling that immediately captures attention. The house has been home to the Sidney family since 1552 and has hosted royal figures including Henry VIII, who once used it as a hunting lodge due to its proximity to other royal estates in Kent.
The gardens and grounds at Penshurst Place are just as impressive as the historic house itself, offering a stunning natural setting for an event of this scale. Spanning around 11 acres of formal gardens within a much larger estate, the grounds are carefully designed as a series of interconnected “garden rooms”, each with its own character, planting style and seasonal display. Over a mile of yew hedging guides visitors through these spaces, creating a sense of discovery as you move through the landscape. The extensive gardens offer a dramatic and ideal setting for outdoor events like CTR Supercar Event 2026.

While venues like Penshurst Place offer incredible visual value, they also present one technical challenges for modern events with limited digital infrastructure. As you can imagine, rural estates were not designed with high-density connectivity in mind. Mobile networks can become inconsistent, and when thousands of attendees are using devices simultaneously, performance can quickly degrade. In today’s event environment, connectivity is essential for how everything operates. From processing payments to sharing content and managing logistics, almost every interaction depends on a stable digital connection.
Active Digital’s infrastructure ensures that event visitors will be able to benefit from stable, high-performance connectivity across the entire event. This means transactions can be completed quickly, securely and without interruption, helping maximise sales opportunities throughout the day. Furthermore, it means that at the CTR Supercar Event 2026, guests will be able to share content in real time and engage with others across the site.
For Challenge The Road (CTR), this is particularly important. Their YouTube channel has already built a highly engaged digital audience, and the event allows that audience to connect with the brand in a physical environment while still remaining linked to the wider online community. With Challenge The Road’s strong presence on YouTube, the event is not just a one-day gathering, it is part of a wider content ecosystem. Connectivity enables that ecosystem to function in real time, allowing footage, interactions and experiences to be captured and shared instantly. Other supporters of the event include New Roads and Air Ambulance, Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Active Digital specialises in delivering high-performance connectivity in complex and challenging environments, particularly rural and outdoor settings where traditional infrastructure is limited. Our focus will be on ensuring every part of the event remains connected, from exhibitor stands to guest areas. We understand that even brief connectivity disruptions can impact both commercial activity and overall experience, which is why reliability, scalability and stability are at the core of our approach.
This event, in a location rich in history is a prime example of how modern events are evolving. As expectations continue to rise, organisers for events understand the importance to treat connectivity as a core part of event design rather than a technical afterthought. It is the foundation that allows events to operate smoothly, deliver commercial value and create memorable experiences.
