That means looking carefully at how technology is sourced, deployed, managed, reused, recycled and supported throughout its life. We consider the environmental, security and commercial impact of technology decisions, from device procurement and mobile estate management to recycling, renewable energy and end-of-life disposal.
The UK generates one of the highest levels of e-waste per person in the world. We are committed to making sure at least 95% of our waste is recycled responsibly, helping reduce landfill, recover useful materials and support a more circular approach to business technology.
One of the most effective ways we help reduce environmental waste is by encouraging clients to trade in and recycle unwanted technology. This includes smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops and other business devices that may otherwise sit unused or end up in landfill.
We make the process simple. Clients can trade in older or unwanted mobile devices to top up a technology fund with us, and we also support buy-back for eligible end-of-life hardware. Through our zero-landfill plan, the majority of phones are reused, repaired or recycled for parts, helping valuable materials stay in circulation.
We do not believe responsible technology starts and ends with recycling. It should be considered at every stage, from procurement and deployment to support, reuse, resale and secure disposal.
Our circular model means we support clients with pre-loved devices, business tech recycling, secure collection, certified data wiping, hard drive shredding, device buyback and responsible disposal. This helps organisations reduce waste, recover value and make sustainability a commercially sensible decision as well as an environmental one.
Our environmental work also applies to how we run our own organisation. We operate paperless offices wherever possible, using digital workflows to reduce printed documents, lower waste and improve operational efficiency.
We have also worked to reduce unnecessary office space, helping lower energy use linked to heating, lighting and day-to-day facilities. Our team is encouraged to make decisions that support sustainability, from everyday admin tasks to wider strategic planning.at partners understand risk, service continuity, data handling and accountability.
We help provide that confidence by presenting clear information about how we operate, how we support clients and how we manage technology responsibly. This is especially important where tenders involve compliance requirements, multi site estates, critical connectivity or sensitive business data.
At our Kent headquarters, we have invested in solar panels to generate clean, renewable energy. This helps power a significant proportion of our day-to-day operations and reduces our reliance on non-renewable sources.
Our website is also powered by 100% renewable-backed energy. These choices reflect our wider belief that responsible infrastructure is not only about what we deliver to clients, but how we operate as a business.
Transport is another important part of our environmental footprint. We consider travel-related emissions and encourage car sharing where it is practical for our team.
Where possible, we also support remote working, public transport and cycling. These steps help reduce unnecessary travel impact while keeping our team connected, productive and able to support clients effectively.
Our ESG commitment includes social impact as well as environmental responsibility. Through our Powered by Tech programme, we help digitally excluded young people gain access to the connectivity and equipment they need in an increasingly digital world.
Over the last 12 months, we have supported young people with free access to connectivity, helping open up learning, communication and opportunity. Our aim is to reduce technology poverty and help bridge the digital gap for families and communities that need support.
Our associate director, Alex Patterson, has helped deliver mi-fi units as part of this programme, working with community organisations to get connectivity into the hands of young people who need it.
This work matters because many UK homes still have no internet access. We see technology as a way to improve lives, create opportunity and help people stay connected to education, support and their communities.
