Active Digital Supports Children in Need at 2025 Charity Golf Day

Active Digital Supports Children In Need

Active Digital proudly lent its support to Children in Need at the 2025 charity golf day, held at the picturesque Dale Hill Golf Club in Ticehurst, East Sussex. The event brought together local businesses, community members, and charity supporters for a day of friendly competition, networking, and fundraising, all in aid of helping children across the United Kingdom. Adding a special highlight to the day, Olympian and Active Digital ambassador Steve Backley OBE joined the Active Digital golf team, supporting awareness for the charity’s mission.

Set against the rolling greens and tranquil landscapes of Dale Hill, the event provided an ideal backdrop for a full day of golf, socialising, and philanthropy. From the early morning tee-off, participants were greeted by the atmosphere of excitement and generosity, with the shared goal of contributing to Children in Need’s vital work. Active Digital’s involvement went beyond sponsorship; the company’s team actively participated in the tournament, engaging with other attendees and demonstrating the company’s commitment to supporting local causes.

As an ambassador, Steve Backley OBE brought a unique energy to the day. A three-time Olympic javelin medalist, Steve has long been an advocate for sport, youth engagement, and community initiatives. His presence at the charity golf day was a brilliant way to embrace the spirit of giving, while enjoying the sport. Having served as Active Digital’s company ambassador for more than two decades, Steve has long been a driving force in promoting the company ethos and charity initiatives.

The fundraising element of the day included a combination of entry fees, sponsorships, and raffle prizes, all designed to maximise contributions to Children in Need.  Every activity created opportunities for attendees to contribute meaningfully. Active Digital’s support helped ensure that the funds raised would have a direct impact on the lives of children facing challenging circumstances.

The Ian Woosnam Course at Dale Hill is a more modern design by the former Masters and Ryder Cup captain. Stretching to about 6,512 yards, this course was built to USGA specifications and opened in 1997, covering nearly 200 acres of the estate. Known for its challenging greens and strategically placed hazards, the Woosnam Course demands accuracy and thoughtful play. One notable hole is the par‑3 16th, which requires a well-judged shot over a deep, wooded gully to reach a green tucked away among vegetation.

The layout at Dale Hill encourages strategic thinking, rewarding precision over brute strength, yet it remains accessible enough for golfers of different levels to enjoy. The course enoys panoramic views out over the High Weald countryside, as well as a thoughtful variety of tree-lined and open holes. The Old Course’s mix of parkland and woodland gives golfers a gentle, scenic challenge, while the Woosnam Course offers more demanding terrain and tighter fairways, especially around the greens.

By the end of the day, the impact of the charity golf event was clear. Significant funds were raised to support children across the UK, providing resources, experiences, and assistance to those who need it most. For Active Digital, the event served as both a celebration of community spirit and a reaffirmation of the company’s ongoing commitment to charitable causes. With Steve Backley OBE’s presence and the generosity of attendees, the 2025 Children in Need Golf Day will be remembered as a successful and inspiring effort to make a difference in children’s lives.

As Active Digital continues to support initiatives like Children in Need, the message is clear: businesses can play a pivotal role in fostering positive change, whether through fundraising, awareness campaigns, or active participation. Days like these remind us of the importance of collaboration with a shared sense of purpose. Together, remarkable results can be achieved, and children in need can be given the support they deserve.
