Active Digital Charity Golf Day 2022

Active Digital has held its annual charity golf day to raise almost £4,000 for the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The event saw sixteen teams take on the full 18 holes at Dale Hill Golf Course in Ticehurst, East Sussex and it is fair to say that the course was in fantastic condition. Teams were comprised of Active Digital staff, partners and customers including Warners Law, Gallagher Group, VVS, Thackray Williams, Paul Fosten Golf Academy, Triglyph Property Consultants and more.

The event, hosted by Active Digital Managing Director, Richard Groves, said,: “We are really happy to be holding our annual charity golf day again as our last one was in 2019 due to the Covid pandemic. This charity golf day is a special one as we are raising funds for the wards who cared for a dear friend of the family (and Active Digital customer), Kenny Collins who lost his battle to Covid in January 2021. This golf day brings together a community of customers and partners of Active Digital who are all raising money for the NHS Trust in his memory. We are grateful for all their support, and we are looking forward to the next one in spring 2023. Huge thank you to everyone who attended or donated an item to the charity raffle.”

Alex Patterson, head of partnerships and events, commented, “we were delighted to welcome back our company ambassador, Steve Backley OBE, who enjoyed the day as well as playing the role of auctioneer for our raffle. He did a fantastic job encouraging guests to raise their hands and make a donation for a great cause.”

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the south east of England. The Trust was legally established on 14 February 2000 and provides a full range of general hospital services, and some areas of specialist complex care to around 560,000 people living in the south of West Kent and the north of East Sussex. The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs, and it operates from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. The latter is a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) hospital and provides wholly single bedded en-suite accommodation for in-patients.

The Trust employs a team of over 5000 full and part-time staff. In addition, the Trust provides specialist cancer services to around 1.8 million people across Kent, Hastings and Rother, via the Kent Oncology Centre, which is sited at Maidstone Hospital, and at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury. The Trust also provides outpatient clinics across a wide range of locations in Kent and East Sussex.

Alex said, “Given the success of our golf day we are keen to go further, build on the fantastic relationships we have with our partners and customers, we will be running more events next year – as well as seeking to work with other charities in the future.”

Plans are already in motion for the next Active Digital Charity Golf Day (Spring 2023) and we want to make this one even bigger, so keep an eye out for future communications!
