Going the Distance: The Team conquers Tonbridge Half Marathon

Active Athletes Half Marathon

On a crisp autumn morning in the heart of Kent, our incredible Active Digital team laced up their running shoes and took on the challenge of the Tonbridge Half Marathon 2025 and what a day it was. Not only did every member of our team achieve a personal best (PB), but we did it all in support of a cause very close to our hearts: The Mintridge Foundation, our 2025 Charity Partner of the Year.

This wasn’t just about crossing the finish line. It was about pushing boundaries, embracing the power of teamwork, and raising awareness (and vital funds) for a charity that is changing young lives through sport and mentorship. For those who’ve never experienced it, the Tonbridge Half Marathon offers one of the most scenic and surprisingly hilly courses in the South East. Starting and finishing at The Judd School, runners are treated to the rolling hills and picturesque villages of the Kent countryside, with the route winding through Leigh, Hildenborough, and back towards Tonbridge.

The rolling terrain demands strength and strategy, but it’s also what makes every finish so rewarding. And this year, our runners delivered, crossing the line stronger, prouder, and more inspired than ever. What made this event truly special was the purpose driving every stride. The Mintridge Foundation is an incredible organisation that harnesses the power of sport and inspirational role models to transform the lives of young people. Through mentoring programmes, school visits, and community outreach, they’re giving children across the UK the confidence, mental health support, and tools to thrive, on and off the pitch.

More Than a Run: A Lesson in Team Spirit and Resilience

At Active Digital, we share Mintridge’s passion for building brighter futures. As our 2025 Charity Partner of the Year, we’ve committed to supporting their mission throughout the year and this half marathon was a cornerstone event in our fundraising calendar.

Thanks to generous donations from clients, colleagues, friends, and family, we’re proud to say that we raised over £500 through this single event alone, funds that will go directly toward supporting mentorship programmes in schools and communities. Training for a half marathon is no small feat, especially when you’re juggling work, family and everything life throws at you. But the shared goal of supporting Mintridge brought our team closer than ever. From early morning training runs to weekend long hauls, our runners showed grit, determination, and a huge amount of mutual support.

And when race day arrived, that spirit shone brighter than ever. Coworkers became pacers, cheerleaders, and motivators for one another. The finish line wasn’t just a personal milestone; it was a celebration of collective effort and shared achievement. Fundraising isn’t just about collecting money; it’s about creating momentum for change.

Events like the Tonbridge Half Marathon bring together community, health, and purpose in a way few other initiatives can. For our team, it was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when we align passion with purpose. Every pound raised helps The Mintridge Foundation reach more young people. Every mile run helps spread their message. And every running result is proof that we can all go further when we’re doing it for something bigger than ourselves.

We’re still buzzing from the results and already looking ahead to our next challenge, which will be the Headcorn Half Marathon in February 2026. If the Tonbridge Half taught us anything, it’s that when you combine purpose, preparation, and passion, incredible things happen. To everyone who supported us, thank you. And to The Mintridge Foundation, thank you for inspiring us to run harder, faster, and with more heart than ever before.
