Andrew Butterfield. Andrew played in the 2005 prestigious Open Golf Championship at St Andrews in Scotland along with Tiger Woods and Nick Faldo.
Biography
Andrew Butterfield went to college in Bromley for Business Studies and Finance. Joined a club team
until before he turned professional in 1993 with a handicap of one. Andrew was coached at Windlesham by Alan Barber until November 2003 when he changed coaches to Stuart Dowsett at Sundridge Park
Golf Club. Rediscovered the form that made him a European Tour player in 2000 and 2002 under Dowsett, and took his game to a new level with a great season in 2005 when he finished fourth on the final Challenge Tour Rankings. That was down to outstanding consistency and some brilliant performances – most notably at the dual ranking Cadillac Russian Open where he finished second.
Also qualified for The 134th Open Championship at St Andrews as well as carding the lowest round of
his career – an 11 under par 60 at the Challenge Tour’s Open Mahou de Madrid. More recently,
Andrew achieved an impressive 2nd place at The Russian Open 2005. The tournament was won by Mikael Lundberg of Sweden beating England's Andrew Butterfield in a sudden-death play-off on the fourth extra hole. Both players then made par on the par-four 18th twice more before Lundberg finally won it with a birdie on the par-five 17th.
More recently, congratulations to Andrew on a steady 7th place result at the March 2006 OSIM
Singapore Masters, Laguna National G & CC.
