The Nokia 3310 revival hits the UK
The much-loved Nokia 3310 is due to make a comeback and will be available for UK pre-order this month.
The 3310 was first released in 2000 and have now been revamped for today’s market, with more than 10 times the battery life, a camera and colour screen.
For those that have missed the days of playing snake, polyphonic ringtones and simple, straight forward text messaging, the wait is nearly over as the UK release date is the 24th May, going on sale at selected retailers.
The low-price tag of £49.99 for the handset, is a marked improvement on the original £129 sale price back in 2000, along with current eBay prices reaching up to £999.
The new generation of the 3310 is thinner and now has a 2.4-inch colour screen, it comes in four glossy colours red, yellow, dark blue and matt grey.
Whilst maintaining some of the best features it has now has a 30-day battery life on standby and 22 hours of talk time in one charge, 16GB of internal storage and of course a new edition of snake!
The is also a headphone jack, SD card slot, two-megapixel camera, FM radio and 2.5G internet connection. All this has been packed into a handset weighing just 79.6g compared to the original 133g handset.
The phone does not have wi-fi or GPS and can’t install apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram – perfect for those wanting to get back to basics.
